My name is Ashutosh Soni, and flooring is not just what I do — it is what I have lived and breathed for over eight years.
I started the way most true craftsmen do: working for someone else, learning the trade from the ground up. Those early years taught me that a great floor is not just about how it looks on day one. It is about the prep work nobody sees, the chemistry most crews rush past, and the discipline to grind every slab until it is truly ready to accept a coating.
My journey spans two continents. I spent four years cutting my teeth in Australia, where the climate punishes concrete with intense heat, UV exposure and rapid moisture shifts. That environment forced me to master systems that could handle thermal expansion, heavy industrial loads and outdoor-grade UV resistance.
When I came to Canada, I brought that knowledge with me — and spent another 4.7 years adapting it to an entirely different beast: freeze-thaw cycles, salt intrusion, basement moisture issues and the kind of heavy-duty commercial traffic you see in Toronto warehouses and Mississauga factories.
After nearly nine years of refining my craft under someone else's brand, I knew it was time to build something of my own. Something where every single floor gets the same obsessive attention I would give my own garage. That is why I founded Buildwell Flooring Solutions.
